Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use universal Tag Editor that allows to edit metadata of common audio formats where it supports ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments and APE Tags.

It can rename files based on the tag information, replace characters or words in tags and filenames, import/export tag information, create playlists and more.

Mp3tag supports online database lookups from, e.g., Amazon, discogs, or freedb, allowing you to automatically gather proper tags and cover art for your music library.

Besides these features Mp3tag offers a variety of other functions and features ranging ranging from batch export of embedded album covers, over support for iTunes-specific tags like media type or TV Show settings, to combining multiple actions into groups that can be applied with a single mouse click.

  • FIX: horizontal scrollbar was missing on a horizontally-aligned Tag Panel when the cover window element was disabled.
  • FIX: moving a separator item at Options > Tag Panel resulted in displaying an empty item name.
  • FIX: disabled labels in auto-numbering wizard appeared bold or embossed in dark mode.

  • NEW: added support for exporting to multiple output files by grouping input files according to a user-defined format string and exporting each group separately.
  • NEW: added scripting function `fmtDate` to format raw timestamps into human-readable dates using a user-defined format string. (#71556)
  • FIX: integer conversion overflow in Web Sources Framework function `json_select_many`.
  • CHG: moved Tag Sources querying and execution to dedicated worker threads so that UI is no longer blocked for long-running queries.
  • CHG: improved performance of executing Tag Sources.
  • LNG: updated Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Catalan, Danish, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish translations.
