Changes in Version 20.61 (2026-08-06):

Fix to modifying digital signatures. eg insert.
Insert or append of a digitally signed PDF now flattens the signature but preserves the appearance of the signature. A warning will be shown if using the user interface.
Signed files save much faster and smaller.
Save using compressed object streams, producing smaller files.
Fixed a crash when opening an encrypted PDF whose internal metadata had an incorrect length.
PDFs containing a partly appended document can now be opened.
A progress indicator is now shown while a large PDF is opening.
Remember last used page number settings as default. Bates defaults to 6-digit number.
