EmEditor is available in both 64-bit and 32-bit builds. As you can see from the examples on right, the 64-bit build runs as much as 16% to 74% faster than the 32-bit build when dealing with very large files. If you use 64-bit Windows, the 64-bit build of EmEditor is absolutely recommended!

Changes in Version 26.3:

• Fast View mode added for huge files can be toggled via Edit → Fast View.
• Fast View capabilities/limits: supports scroll/select/copy, find/filter/extract, compare, encoding reload/save as, external tools; limits bookmarks to 100,000, disables incremental search, and only checks start of file for null/invalid characters.
• Significantly faster performance when working with huge files in Fast View mode.
• Enhanced Chat with AI for per-chat settings, model/tools indicator, MCP (HTTP) connectors, and an EmEditor Help Pages connector for better up-to-date answers.

• AI-Assisted Writing now supports multiple AI providers beyond OpenAI: Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google, and LM Studio / OpenAI-compatible (requires ChatAI plug-in).
• AI Prompts can now use a second provider/model to send the same prompt to two AIs at once and compare results side-by-side.
• Microsoft Store version switched to MSIX packaging, enabling many capabilities previously missing in the Store build.
