CDRoller is a powerful, easy-to-use and low-cost toolset for CD/ DVD/ BD/ HD-DVD/ Flash data recovery. It finds and retrieves accidently deleted files, files located in the corrupted folders, files on incorrectly closed disks, etc.

CDRoller effectively retrieves the lost data from the discs created by “drag and drop” CD/DVD/BD writing software. Such as well-known Sonic (Roxio, Adaptec) and Ahead Nero software packages, CeQuadrat’s PacketCD, DLA, B’s CLiP and others.

Also it retrieves the lost pictures, video and other types of files from flash memory cards. Such as SmartMedia, Memory Stick, CompactFlash, xD Picture Card and other flash memory drives.

CDRoller also offers all-in-one toolset for DVD Video Recovery. It finds and recovers the lost DVD movies, converts VOB or VRO data into generic MPG files. Finally, it makes a new disc that can be played back in the most DVD players.

CDRoller Key Features:

  • Recovers video and photos from non-finalized DVDs created by a wide set of standalone devices that record directly onto discs: Hitachi, Sony Handycam, Canon, Panasonic, Samsung DVD camcorders as well as standalone video recorders.
  • Reads unfinalized (“open”, “left as-is”) CDs and DVDs, including the discs with Microsoft’s Live File system, formatted “like flash drive” under Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or 11.
  • Recovers the lost files from the discs created by CD/DVD/Blu-ray writing software, such as well-known Sonic (Roxio, Adaptec) and Ahead Nero software packages, CeQuadrat’s PacketCD, DLA, B’s CLiP and many others.
  • Converts the recovered VOB or VRO video data into generic MPEG-2 files without loss of quality. In contrast to VOB files, MPG ones can be viewed properly with the help of Windows native players.
  • Makes new DVD-video discs that can be played back in the most DVD players.
  • Recovers M2TS video files on the mini discs that were not finalized by AVCHD camcorders.
  • Converts the recovered MPEG-2 (*.mpg) and AVCHD (.m2ts) files into MP4 video files with support of H.264, H.265/HEVC, Libvpx-VP8, Xvid and native MPEG-4 video codecs.
  • Extracts and saves selected fragment of recovered video as separate video file.
  • Finds and retrieves accidently deleted files, files located in the corrupted folders, files on incorrectly closed disks, etc.
  • Recovers CD data written by Sony Mavica CD digital cameras.
  • Examines images (pictures, photos) of all major graphic formats (BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, GIF, PNG, PCX, PSD, EPS, TIFF, WMF, ICO, TGA), popular digital camera raw formats, DICOM files (medical imaging) and many others.
  • Recovers lost audio files on the flash memory built into voice recorders, such as Sony, Olympus, Ritmix, etc.
  • “On-the-fly” unpacks the files initially compressed by Roxio (Adaptec) DirectCD.
  • Retrieves back up files from the discs recorded in several stages (multisession discs).

More Features:

  • Includes a built-in CD/DVD/BD data burner. There is no need to run third-party CD/DVD/BD mastering software if you wish to burn a new DVD-video disc or backup your files and folders immediately after recovery.
  • Erases CD, DVD and BD re-writable media. Supports quick and full erase methods.
  • Examines disc sectors at low level. Displays the sector content in text, binary, hexadecimal or unicode mode. It also scans all sectors of a disc (selected track or file) for particular data.
  • Supports external hex editor for detailed analysis of disc contents at low level.
  • Allows direct examination of the content of selected file at low level.
  • Scans files for particular data (content), regardless of the file names and/or extensions. Supports Perl-like regular expressions (PCRE library) for creating match patterns.
  • Reads ISO image files (*.iso), disk image files recorded in Expert Witness Compression Format (*.E01, *.L01, *.S01), Linux / Unix Disk Dump (*.dd) files and Microsoft Virtual Disk Images in VHD and VHDX formats (*.vhd, *.vhdx files).
  • Creates disk image files (byte-to-byte copy) of entire drive, logical disk or selected partition.
  • Identifies the lost files on ISO/Joliet discs with the damaged file system (volume descriptors, path tables and directories), using the raw data only.
  • Rescues the data from scratched, damaged or defective discs.
  • Creates and uses an own image file to manage disc sectors.
  • Digitally extracts audio tracks into a wide set of wave formats.
  • Tests disc readability.
  • Extracts ISO Image file. Burns ISO Image file to a new disc.

Changes in CDRoller 11.82 (2022-01-20):

  • Simple Video Editor released. You can now view the recovered video file (MPEG-2 or AVCHD) frame-by-frame and save the selected fragment of video as a new file, without leaving the program.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.81 (2022-01-05):

  • Simple Video Converter released. Converts the recovered MPEG-2 (*.mpg) and AVCHD (.m2ts) video files into MP4 files with support of H.264, H.265/HEVC, Libvpx-VP8, Xvid and native MPEG-4 video codecs. Integrated into the program shell. No need to use an external converter, you can now get MP4 video files without leaving CDRoller.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.80 (2021-11-02):

  • Split Video updated. Added an opportunity to merge the resulted MPEG-2 video fragments into one file.
  • Added a capability to read DVD-video disc that has been finalized with incorrect TOC parameters (Track Start Address and Track Length).
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.70 (2021-02-23):

  • New features to find and sort your photos by facial recognition and taken date in the old collections of optical discs (CD, DVD, Blu-ray), flash memory cards and other Windows drives as well.
  • Extended Data Recovery updated. Added ability to skip the files that were already on the recovery destination. After you have checked the Skip already recovered files box under FAT/NTFS/Ext tab in the Preferences, the program will ignore all the files already recovered from this drive. This can be useful if you recover a lot of files from the large drive.
  • ISO/Joliet reader updated. Now, if a file name contains an invalid symbol for Windows, it will be automatically replaced by underline symbol (_). This looks like an useful if your optical disc (CD/DVD/Blu-Ray) was originally recorded under non-Windows operating system.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.60 (2020-01-20):

  • This version introduces new features to keep your valuable files safe on optical discs (CD, DVD or Blu-Ray):
    • Added support of the Short CD/DVD Images for high capacity blu-ray discs : BD-R DL and BD-RE DL (Dual Layer), BD-R TL and BD-RE TL (Triple Layer), BD-R QL and BD-RE QL (Quadruple Layer), Ultra HD Blu-ray (UHD) discs as well.
    • Short CD/DVD Images catalog your optical discs into the library and protect the directories on each disc from reading errors. Now, these images allow to create and use so-called spare files to protect valuable files data. Built on Reed-Solomon error-correction algorithm, spare files verify your protected files have not been damaged and fix them if necessary.
  • NTFS reader updated. Fixed a rare bug when the MFT scan stalls or even freezes.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.50 (2019-11-04):

  • That is an important version for everyone who uses CDRoller for data recovery from the video cameras with internal flash memories.
    • Extended Data Recovery updated. Added support of Flip Video Pocket Cameras with internal flash memories.
    • Fixed a bug when searching for the lost video files on the flash cards with FAT file system.
  • Added Check Update into the Help menu. Using this option, you can check if your current version of CDRoller is up-to-date or a recent update is now available.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.

Changes in CDRoller 11.40 (2019-01-09):

  • This version introduces the new options of CDRoller: Create spare files and Repair file. These options are now located in the File menu of program window. Spare files contain error-correction data based on Reed-Solomon algorithm that can be used to verify your valuable files have not been damaged and fix them if necessary. For example, if you have a valuable file on the expensive high-capacity Blu-ray disc (BD-R Quadruple Layer or Ultra HD Blu-ray), even a small damaged area can make a large backup file non-functional. A possible solution is to create spare files while your backup is still readable, keep them in the safe place or write onto new CD or DVD using Burn option of CDRoller. Further, you can recover files with the help of Recover… and Repair file options, using spare files created before.
  • Numerous improvements, bugfixes and workarounds added.
