Manjaro Linux 20.1 Build 200911 KDE, Xfce, Cinnamon

Manjaro is a professionally made Linux based operating system that is a suitable replacement for Windows or MacOS. Multiple Desktop Environments are available through Official and Community editions. The developers also work with manufacturers to design dedicated hardware.

Manjaro is a user-friendly Linux distribution based on the independently developed Arch operating system. Within the Linux community, Arch itself is renowned for being an exceptionally fast, powerful, and lightweight distribution that provides access to the very latest cutting edge – and bleeding edge – software.

Developed in Austria, France, and Germany, Manjaro provides all the benefits of the Arch OS combined with a focus on user-friendliness and accessibility. Available in both 32 and 64 bit versions, Manjaro is suitable for newcomers as well as experienced Linux users.

Xfce Edition

It is a lightweight desktop environment for UNIX-like operating systems. It aims to be fast and low on system resources, while still being visually appealing and user friendly. Xfce embodies the traditional UNIX philosophy of modularity and re-usability. It consists of a number of components that provide the full functionality one can expect of a modern desktop environment. They are packaged separately and you can pick among the available packages to create the optimal personal working environment.

KDE Plasma Edition

is for people who want a user-friendly and customizable desktop. It is a feature-rich and versatile desktop environment that provides several different styles of menu to access applications. An excellent built-in interface to easily access and install new themes, widgets, etc, from the internet is also worth mentioning. KDE Plasma is simple by default, a clean work area for real-world usage which intends to stay out of your way, so the user is enabled to create the workflow that makes it more effective to complete tasks.

Manjaro GNOME

This edition is supported by the Manjaro team and comes with the GNOME 3 desktop that breaks with traditional concepts and allows users to focus on their tasks. Desktop-specific applications are crafted with care and clearly defined by guidelines that make them more consistent to use.

Manjaro Architect

It is a fork of the famous Architect Linux installer by Carl Duff, that has been modified to install Manjaro. It is a netinstaller that downloads the latest available packages, so your system is up to date right after installation, regardless of how old your install media is.

Manjaro comes with its own tools that help you configuring your computer the way you want – without searching for scattered settings across the whole system and looking things up on the internet. Just open the system control panel, open the tool and select what you want.

Recommended System Requirements

Recommended rather than minimum system requirements have been provided in order to ensure that you get the most out of your Manjaro system. Although many distributions will list the bare minimum specifications necessary to run, it wouldn’t be a particularly fun or useful experience to actually use them! As such, it is recommended to have at least:

  • 1 GB of memory
  • 30 GB of hard disk space
  • 1 Ghz processor
  • A high definition (HD) graphics card and monitor
  • A broadband internet connection
