Specifications

FileZilla Server is a free, open source server for Microsoft Windows. The Client not only supports FTP and FTP over TLS (FTPS) and SFTP which provides secure encrypted connections to the server.

A user connections manager allows the administrator to view currently connected users and their uploads/downloads. At present, there are two operations the owner of the server can do to those transfers: to “kill” the client session or to “ban” the user’s IP address. This manager shows the real-time status of each active file transfer.

FileZilla software supports SSL, the same level of encryption supported by your web browser, to protect your data. When using SSL your data is encrypted so that prying eyes cannot see it, and your confidential information is protected.

FileZilla Server also supports on-the-fly data compression, which can improve the transfer rates. Support for SFTP is not implemented in Filezilla Server.

Functionalities:

  • Upload and download bandwidth limits
  • Compression
  • Encryption with SSL/TLS (for FTPS)
  • Message log (for debugging and real-time traffic information)
  • Limit access to internal LAN traffic or external internet traffic only

Changes in Version 1.12.0 (2025-11-19):

  • FTP: do not use the default impersonator during the test of the FTP connections.
  • Fixed bug that reversed mount point precedence, giving priority to group mount points over user ones; user mount points now correctly take precedence.
  • Fixed bug that made the %<home> placeholder not work in case “Use system credentials to log in” was selected but “Use system credentials also for accessing &files and directories” was not.

Changes in Version 1.11.1 (2025-09-18):

  • UI: Added a new choice when removing groups that are still in use, now the affected users can be removed regardless of other group membership as well
  • UI: Small usability improvements to the group membership picker
  • Fixed a crash if editing a user while they are logged in
  • Fixed listing the available mounts in the root directory if the root itself is not a defined mount point
  • UI: Fixed a crash when adding or removing groups

Changes in Version 1.11.0 (2025-08-28):

  • Fixed a crash if loading a custom X.509 private key or certificate fails using implicit FTP over TLS

Changes in Version 1.10.5 (2025-07-24):

  • Fixed a crash if using impersonation
  • Fixed a resource consumption issue in the impersonator

Changes in Version 1.10.4 (2025-07-16):

  • Official binaries are now linked against GnuTLS 3.8.10
  • Fixed a crash if using speed limits

I don't know what could happen if you correct the title? And how can it happen that there are completely wrong titles and wrong version numbers very often? I guess you should check who can post and who can't.
