Well nothing fancy, thanks for info Orion11.
For the first time since the last 5 years, I stopped using Avira. I just kept the Windows Defender from Windows 8 and it does the job so far. I never got any big viruses for ages except some usb autorun. Antivirus tends to become a gadget with more secure OS and browsers.
However I keep installing Avira for my clients as they click on anything.

    @ Skylab
To each his own. I have had Avira and Avast and Avast is better, IMO. It has a better intuitive GUI and does not find a lot of false positives like Avira does. Avast also doesn’t nag you like Avira does. Don’t get me wrong. I think both are great I just think Avast is better.

Avira is the best of all time… It is impressive, and it is effective.
Littlebits: Go away, please. Avast! is a poor, through the ages!

Avast is much better, how I know. I run a small computer repair shop, all of my customers who have Avast installed always have less infections than users with Avira installed.
Avira maybe look better on tests, but put in real world environments Avast is the true winner.

Avira is much more powerful than avast, Kaspersky and other antivirus programs.
To test Avira, I handled a simple virus signature “EICAR” with multi-pass encryption.
After encryption, this signature has been detected ONLY by Avira AntiVir
