XYplorer is a multi-tabbed file manager for Windows, featuring a very powerful file search, versatile preview facilities, a highly customizable interface, and a large array of unique ways to efficiently automate frequently recurring tasks. XYplorer (formerly known as TrackerV3) is a hybrid file manager that combines features found in navigational and orthodox file managers.

Instead of dual folder panes, it features a file tree and a tabbed interface for folders that supports drag-and-drop between tabs.

A central feature is the hideable information panel at the bottom that you can use to view file properties and contents, generate reports, find files and preview files. Such as PNG, TIF, GIF, JPG, TGA, PSD, ICO; WAV, MP3, MPEG, AVI; TTF, PFB; HTML, EML, MSG, DOC, XLS, PDF, and many other formats.

The XYplorer search facility supports Boolean logic, Regular Expressions, whole word and fuzzy matching, binary string search, and multiple location search. The unique feature is the Catalog, which is a user created panel of links to files, folders, URLs, and similar entries. Another feature is Scripting, which allows user to create stored sets of commands, similar to a macro. Also the UDC (User Defined Commands), which allow user to create a limited set of customized commands.

• Bookmarks. Now you can drag and drop applications, documents, and folders onto the toolbar to make them available as bookmarks, just like you do in web browsers. You can also create bookmarks from items or text in the clipboard. Once you’ve added a bookmark to the toolbar, you can click it to launch an application, open a document, or go to a folder. Or you can drag and drop items onto it to open them with an application, or to copy or move them to a folder, depending on what the bookmark points to.

• Permanent Custom Sort Order Per Folder. Now a custom sort order, created by freely sorting the files in a folder by dragging them to the desired positions, can be remembered per folder. Whenever you reopen that folder, it will be in the same custom sort order. Windows hasn’t supported this since Windows 7, but now it’s back in XYplorer and it’s here to stay.
• Zero Padding. Now it is easy to add zeros to numbers in file names during batch renaming. Turn track_1.mp3, track_2.mp3, track_10.mp3 into track_01.mp3, track_02.mp3, track_10.mp3 with a single click and restore a reasonable order in your playlists.
