Family Protection replaces Family Rules

Family Protection introduces simplified local management of content filtering. Users with administrator accounts can now apply predefined profiles to all system users without having to link F-Secure accounts. Time limits are removed to streamline the user experience.

Other improvements:

• Added firewall sensor for Device Protection. It is on by default but can be turned off from settings if it causes problems.

Bug fixes:

• VPN killswitch blocks DHCP IP renewal
• Automatic VPN protection broke VPN functionality in some systems
• Wrong notifications suggesting C: drive to be scanned

Device Protection improvements:

• Added detection for Security Privacy Risk software.
• Improved error messages in case of malfunction situations.

• Browsing Protection extension connectivity to product has been improved (Browsing Protection extension version 6.9.x).

Bug fixes:

• Fixes for various DNS related issues causing VPN connection to fail in certain networks.
• More reliable VPN reconnection when system returns from sleep or network changes.
• Add Website dialog now shows Unicode URLs correctly.
• Block page now shows Unicode URLs correctly (Browsing Protection extension version 6.9.x).
• User now properly requested to restart the computer when needed for malware removal.
• UI crashes in some ARM64 devices. Fix can be enabled by holding shift key and mouse right-click on top of application’s taskbar tray icon and unselect “Stylus pointer support”.
