DesignCAD can be customized to fit your particular application. You can create your own Custom Toolbox and even write your own DesignCAD commands using BasicCAD! In addition to its 2D Mode, DesignCAD is a true three-dimensional CAD system. You can use it to construct realistic 3D models of your projects. You can show them in wireframe view, with hidden lines removed, or with full-color shading - from any viewing angle. You can also create animation files which step the viewer around your drawing in smooth increments. For example, you could start with an aerial view of a house, descend to ground level, and then walk all around it. DesignCAD imports and exports drawings in DWG, DXF, and HPGL formats, and also reads and writes Windows Metafiles. DesignCAD can also export WPG, RIB and WRL formats. Other imported formats include HPGL and XYZ. DesignCAD can pass drawing information to and from the Clipboard and export OLE 2.0 objects to applications that support them.

New Features:
• New Arrow Command. A new option in the Arrow command "Draw as Curve" allows you to draw arrows as curves instead of straight lines.
• New Grid Option. There is a new option in the Grid Options dialog box: "Show CS". This shows a graphical representation of the coordinate axes in the drawing area.
• New Option to Turn Off Nested Groups. There is a new option in the General Options dialog box: "Don't use nested groups". If you activate this checkbox, DesignCAD will use its "classic" grouping mechanism from version 15 and earlier. In this situation, groups are not linked to a specific layer, cannot be nested, and do not generate an actual group entity. The setting is application-wide, not per-document. When this option may cause a change in an open drawing's data, you will be warned and can cancel the operation.
• New Option to Print Hidden Line as Dash. There is a new option in the "Type" tab of the Print dialog box: "Print hidden line as dash". You can adjust the pen width setting in the Print dialog box for the lines to show faintly or clearly in your printed results.
