No, actually, Comodo users are minority. They are usually security freaks, youtbe testers and their fans. Most of them doesn’t even know what they are talking about. And whenever someone says the sore fact that CIS slows down the systems everyone who defends Comodo always talks about ram usage. The amount of ram cosumptopn has nothing to do with slowing the computer down. Yes, it is true that CIS uses small amount of memory, so what? Does it mean the computer is fast? NO. Comodo slows down in different way, it slows accesing hard drive, it is slow whenever some program access the registry, it is slow whenever you launch some application – and that is because sandbox and D+ module needs to check if the files you launched are whitelisted etc.

So, please do not talk about small memory usage. That really does not mean anything. For example, Eset AV (MSE also) holds all his signatures in ram memory (and ram consumption is always above 60-70mb), but the computer is lighnting fast – everything you launch launches instantly, practically PC runs with the same speed as no AV installed. But with Comodo this is not the case. And you also have bloated Frankenstein who tends to sandbox your drivers, games, camers, printers.

Regarding Comodo Cleaning Essentials – thebigshot said everything in his last verse – you must know what you are doing. Well, very nice, if you know what is a malware and what isn’t then what is the point of having cleaning essentials, antivirus, or whatever. That is just stupid. And what if, for example, some AV engines said something is clear and some said it isn’t clean. What will you do??? Delete it or not???

Anyway, this tool is completely futile – it wil break many PC’s. You will always do better by simply using free Malwarebytes Antimalware.

Ok, since you tested virutally every security software we could say that you are an experienced user in terms of security products, and you still need hips and sandbox to babysit every file that is accessed or opened. LMAO! That’s funny, because everyday there is more people who are victims of Melih’s zero-day scare tactics.
Now, I am not Comodo fan nor enemy. I am just for the truth. I actually use Comodo firewall (just firewall, without D+ and sandbox parts) in combination with other free AV (although I have full licences for almost all antivirus and security suite products) and there is no need to be harsh against company who provides free protection for the people – I just reacted to say that is true (from my point of view) that CIS slows down the PC considerably, and that it is also buggy and unusable sometimes. No less, no more.
To be honest, I was a part of Panda Security, working very hard on Panda Cloud Antivirus, but I still do not recommend usage of PCA, because it was buggy, and it is still buggy, and that is the truth unless something changes. Maybe you understimated, or somehow misunderstood my post in some points – but I know what I am talking, because I tested thousands of malware samples daily. I also saw many cases in which D+ module fails miserably, and even if you clik BLOCK malware is still installed and active. I don’t care if Melih says different, that is his marketing – and I am not mad about his marketing or anything about that, I am just saying the things as they are.
There is no effective way to stop every malware for which you do not have signature (zero-day), and I do not care if Comodo people do not agree, that is their problem. So, I can’t prove you that Comodo sucks (it was not my intention at all), just as you cannot prove that Comodo is best, or better than any other AV or IS.
This also applies on DACS – if you doesn’t have a signature it is futile to scan a file against 14 AV engines. Lets say DACS are inspecting some suspicious file against 14 AV, and out of 14, 7 AV’s recognize the file as clean and other 7 as infected. What will you do, to whom will you believe??? So, it appears that you have no idea… Maybe it looks promising, but in reality it will create more mess…The only “cure” for unknown and zero day malware is user itself.
So, contrary to Melih’s blobs, the best and safest AV’s these days are the ones who strictly operate on signature-based level – Nod, MSE, Avira… In fact, the best all-arround anti-malware product is Emsisoft Antimalware – but it also can be bloated and slow sometimes and under some conditions, and I do not use Emsi although I have pro licence.
Anyway, if you are happy with Comodo, that is fine, use it, I am not against that – just do not behave like their agent, because I know them and their products much better than you can think.
Sorry for such a long reply and best wishes.

    @ Patanjali

Thanks for the response. I apologize if my message came off as inflamatory. But I took slight offence to the insinuation of being called some sorta Comodo fan. No worries. The fact remains, that with me, is I will use whatever provides me with the best overall security. I was merely relaying my honest personal experience with using Comodo Internet Security suite the past 6 months and not just blindly backing a piece of software. Obviously memory resources is not the overall factor of a piece of software. But being light on the system but it does play a big part. I haven’t noticed any negative effects or slow down of starting up applications. Yeah I’m not a professional AV tester by any means. But I do modestly test security suites and throw a few thousand malware at it along with 0-day malware. Of course any test of the “youtube” nature needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But it does provide some insight as to the functionality of the software. Oh well, the fact remains that there are a good choice of Security software to chose from – whether you go the route of paid products  or use free products. Since NOD doesn’t really have a HIPS , to my knowledge, I would probably use it with Threatfire – which has a new version this month.  wink

No problem, I didn’t feel offended or insulted in any way. smile
Just wanted to say that smaller ram usage is not always better, and faster, as many people tend to think.
I will not recomended Threatfire, it is actually much slower than Comodo D+ am
But you can try spyshelter, free, fast, light…
P.S. – Do not forget that Nod32 has ThreatSense engine, which is a very advanced heuristic engine, which can detect unknown malware. I everyday usage it is much more convenient than classic talkative hips.(I do not use Nod, by the way, but I can recommend it anytime to anyone. I asked a friend, Microsoft worker, just for fun, what AV he recommends, and he said: Eset, of course.) wink

end of the day , comodo is very low on resources , the install can be a bit slow but if you have an old laptop with low memory comodo is very light on startup , or you could install AVG  which hogs the startup  and slows everything down, i personally run comodo firewall with Eset nod32 anti virus ,its great. A lot of people diss comodo but when you compare to the pc user who wants something lite on his machine , try all the the virus software out there including threatfire and then install comodo , we will see which workstation, laptop starts faster. my only issue with comodo was the update scenario abit slow a few false negs on the virus software , but dont most of them. A good product and its freewink

Comodo Cleaning Essentials is a good idea but just don’t for most users.
Too complicated for most average users, too slow at updating for advanced users.
I can run a complete system scan with about 3 or more scanners before CCE scanner completes updating signatures. For this reason I’ll have to pass on it. Time is precious, if you have the time to wait then it might work for you. I rather removal the infections as quick as possible and get it over with. Killswitch is really not very impressive, there are more than a hand full of tools that can the exact same thing.  Thanks.
