what the use of it ? flash player plays flash files on explorer(websites) but this shockwave player wont,..even after installing this, it wont play any of my saved .flv files

as by the above description,this shockwave player is no use for me & many others.. and yes i got the “flashplayer_11_Stand Alone_32bit” to play flv files on my pc :)
What is difference between full and slim version?

-contains a limited number of units of functionality called “Xtras” and the plug-in downloads more “Xtras” from the Adobe servers when needed
