Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1

The .NET Framework enables developers to build, deploy, and run XML Web services and Microsoft .NET–connected applications. It provides a highly productive environment for integrating existing investments with next-generation applications and services. The Microsoft .NET Framework installs the .NET Framework runtime and associated files required to run applications developed to target the .NET Framework.

The .NET Framework improves scalability and performance of applications with improved caching, application deployment and updating with ClickOnce, support for the broadest array of browsers and devices with ASP.NET controls and services.  The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (formerly known as WinFX), is the new managed code programming model for Windows.
